For interior MDF, chipboard, particle board, and plywood.
MDF and other manufactured boards can outgas formaldehyde* and other VOCs into the indoor atmosphere for many months or years. This can be one of the main causes of poor indoor air quality and a variety of medical problems ,as well as affecting allergies and conditions such as asthma.
The special silicate ingredients in ECOS MDF Passivating primer absorbs and permanently neutralizes approx. 99% formaldehyde* and other VOCs, down to around one part per million, before they can escape into the atmosphere (Gas chromatographic data).
*Formaldehyde is a carcinogen with mutagenic effects (causes birth defects).
This white matt primer can be over coated with one of ECOS Paints’ many wood paint finishes.
