“Hello, My name is Drew Gahafer with Kentucky LiveEdge.  I am a woodworker, furniture maker and artisan based out of Lexington, KY. I've always had a love for building furniture by combining natural edge wood slabs with metal.  I try my best to use eco-friendly products in my craft.  This begins with sourcing sustainable or reclaimed lumber and upcycling metals to marry with the wood as much as possible.  The one issue I've always had was using wood finishes that contained high levels of VOC.  I knew of ways to finish wood naturally, but they required monthly upkeep.  Over the winter months of 2013-2014, I had a commissioned build request for a dining table that contained a Zero VOC finish*.  In my quest to find a product that was Zero VOC*, I came across Imperial Paints LLC and a wood varnish made by ECOS Paints.  I inquired about the product and was immediately responded to by a representative at Imperial Paints LLC.  After a brief discussion and series of questions, I purchased one gallon.  The product was here the very next day!  I must admit that I had my doubts on how well the product would hold up.  As I worked on my clients custom dining table, I would apply the ECOS Paints wood varnish to scrap pieces and test the durability.  I was blown away by the ease of use, wonderful look of the finish and the durability proven through my testing.  By the time the custom piece of furniture was completed, I had 3/4 of a gallon left.  I had such luck with it that I've been using it ever since on all of my furniture pieces!  No more waiting 2 days for a wood varnish to cure, no more latex gloves, no more respirator required and I feel wonderful about offering this finish to my clients. I'm a big fan of Imperial Paints LLC & ECOS Paints products!

Regards,
Drew Gahafer
